Tea Made from Harmony with Nature: Wild Shui Xian from Shimen, Taiwan

Tea Made from Harmony with Nature: Wild Shui Xian from Shimen, Taiwan

Isn’t it beautiful? As its name indicates (野放 Ye Fang: grown in the wild), the trees are grown with other plants and organisms in nature without any artificial fertilizers.

From the dry leaves, you can smell hints of fruits, roasted nuts, and flowers. You won’t get bored by this wide spectrum of scents.

In each sip, flavors like peach, honey, Mi Xiang, orchids, and fruits are refreshingly harmonized with a little bit of sweetness and a great finish. You will sense a very vivid floral bouquet aftertaste.

Searching for Flawless Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea

After a long search for premium Bai Hao, we are pleased to introduce this tea, the only Oriental Beauty in our collection. Since this tea is made of only young leaves, Bai Hao is not produced as productively as other teas. In other words, if a Bao Zhong garden produces 10kg of tea, an Oriental Beauty garden of the same size produces only 1-2kg of tea. This leads to Oriental Beauty’s high cost. The most distinct feature of Oriental Beauty is its unique honey scent (Mi Xiang). Oriental Beauty owes this scent to a small insect called Jacobiasca formosana, which...

Hunting for High Mountain Black Tea Grown in the Perfect Environment

The Qi Lai Shan High Mountain Black Tea was highly approved by all the tasters at Daurim. This premium black tea is made of Qing Xin trees from Mr. Gao’s tea garden on Qi Lai Shan, which is a rising-star tea region in Taiwan near Dayuling, Hehuanshan. The garden’s elevation is about 5,600 ft high, which is rather high for black teas. Since the garden’s territory was recently developed, the trees in it are grown from the new and vibrant energy of the soil. All the conditions of the garden were great; the gap between the daily high and low...

Introducing Snow Oolong from La La Land (Shan)

I would like to introduce a unique tea, La La Shan Oolong, which is the first Daurim tea of 2018 and came here after going through the snow in Taiwan. La La Shan is a mountain in the southeastern region of Taoyuan. The maximum elevation of the mountain is about 1,500m (4,900ft). The area is not well-known to the public yet, so the trees are in a great condition, and the farmers solely focus on making great teas. The leaves were harvested on January 3rd, 2018, which makes it a real winter tea. The tea exemplifies characteristics of winter teas,...
